Merlot del Ticino. Denomination of controlled origin. Grapes from the vineyard in Salorino, on the slopes of Monte Generoso. The planting dates back to the beginning of 1950 resulting in one of the oldest in the canton of Ticino. Perfect with important menus but also as a meditation wine. Intense bouquet with notes of underbrush and ripe fruits such as black ries, cassis, plum. Slightly spicy with notes of vanilla and a light roasting of coffee and chestnuts. Good volume on the palate. Balanced, structured and very persistent wine. 5-10 years old.
Other Boscherina’s products
Boscherina winery produces about 6,000 bottles per year. There are two of them, Rudy Studer and his son Simone. Both of them also have another job which in certain periods of the year is their main job. They own several small vineyards which they personally take care of. The grapes they harvest are partly sold to other producers in Ticino.
